- Report suspected infringements to support@forensicbim.business.
1. Ownership
The ForensicBIM Service, its software, analysis and scoring methods, valuation models, benchmarks, report designs, badges, documentation and website content belong to ForensicBIM or its licensors, and are protected by copyright, database rights, trademark law and other intellectual property laws (section 12 of the Terms).
The IFC files and other material you upload remain yours, and you may use the analysis results, scores, valuations and reports the Service generates for you for any lawful purpose (section 6.1 of the Terms). ForensicBIM keeps the rights in the methods and the design of those reports.
2. Our trademarks
The following are trademarks of ForensicBIM:
- ForensicBIM™
- the ForensicBIM logo
- Forensic BIM score™
The absence of a name or logo from this list does not mean that ForensicBIM gives up any rights in it. We may take action against use of our trademarks that is unauthorised or misleading.
3. Using our name, logo and scores
You may, without asking us:
- use the name ForensicBIM in plain text to refer accurately to us or our Service, for example "analysed with ForensicBIM";
- share reports and other Output you generated, unaltered, including the ForensicBIM name and logo they contain; and
- state the Forensic BIM score or badges that a model received, together with the date of the analysis.
You may not, without our prior written permission:
- use the ForensicBIM logo other than as it appears in unaltered Output;
- use our trademarks, or names or logos that are confusingly similar, in your company, product, service or domain names, or in advertising keywords;
- change our logo, or combine it with your own or someone else's name or logo;
- suggest that ForensicBIM sponsors, endorses, certifies or partners with you, your products or your models; or
- present a score or badge as a certification, appraisal or audit opinion, or quote it for a model other than the version that was analysed (see also section 8 of the Terms).
When you write our name, please spell it as one word: ForensicBIM. To request logo files or permission for other uses, email support@forensicbim.business.
4. Copyright
© ForensicBIM. All rights reserved. You may view, download and print pages of our website for your own information or for internal use within your organisation, and you may quote short extracts if you name ForensicBIM as the source. Any other copying, distribution, adaptation or publication of our website content, software, documentation or report designs needs our prior written permission, unless the law or your agreement with us allows it.
5. Linking to our website
You may link to any public page of our website, and you may share the share links and showcase pages you create in the Service. When you link to us, do not:
- display our pages inside a frame or otherwise make them appear to be part of another website;
- present the link in a way that suggests an endorsement or partnership that does not exist; or
- use our logo as the link, unless we have given permission.
We may ask you to remove a link that does not meet these conditions.
6. Third-party trademarks
Other names and logos on our website, such as buildingSMART, IFC, BCF, IDS, OGC, the names of authoring software and the names of the mapping, payment and cloud services we use, belong to their respective owners. We use them only to describe compatibility, standards or the services we rely on. Their use does not mean that their owners endorse ForensicBIM.
7. Open-source software
Parts of the Service are built with open-source software. The components below run in your browser when you use our website. Each is licensed under its own licence, which you can read, together with the copyright notices of its authors and its source code, at the link given. Nothing in our Terms limits your rights under these licences.

8. Reporting infringement
ForensicBIM respects the intellectual property of others. Uploaded models are not public: other people can see an analysis only if the user who uploaded it shares it, for example through a share link. If you believe that material on our website or shared through the Service infringes your copyright, trademark or other rights, email support@forensicbim.business with the subject "Infringement notice" and include:
- your name and contact details, and, if you act for someone else, the name of the rights holder;
- a description of the work or trademark you believe is infringed;
- where the material appears, for example the page address or share link;
- why you believe the use is not authorised; and
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
We review every notice. Where a notice is justified, we may remove the material or disable access to it, for example by revoking a share link. Where appropriate, we inform the user concerned so that they can respond. We may suspend or end the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others (section 17.2 of the Terms).
